Thank you for your interest in supporting The Florida School of Woodwork (FSW), like many craft schools, we depend upon the generosity of our community to sustain and advance our mission. Your gift will help us provide workshops and classes focused on the sustaining craft of woodwork.
We want to reach a diverse audience with our Woodwork classes. We want to invest in our graduating high schoolers by offering scholarship and woodworking experience well as our veterans by seeking accreditation so that we can accept GI Bill benefits allowing them to begin a second career.
We want to increase our accessibility through reduced prices and diversified programming. Our class sales only cover about seventy-five percent of our operating expenses, and we depend on the generosity of donors to make it possible for us to extend the opportunity to learn the craft of woodworking and furniture making to a broader audience.
Please note that we are in the process of applying for 501 c (3) designation.

There are other mechanisms of giving to School that can honor those in our lives who loved the process and pleasure of woodwork, this can include individuals’ bequests, annuities, and other planned giving vehicles. A few details are provided below but gifts such as these will likely require involvement of accountants, executors, and financial planners so we would love to start by having a conversation with you.
Gifts of Stock
A gift of long-term appreciated stock offers significant tax benefits. The gift is credited for the full market value of the securities, and you may deduct this full amount from federal income tax (if it is within 30 percent of adjusted gross income). Generally, the donor does not pay capital gains tax on the increased value of the securities. To ensure the transaction is handled to your specifications and satisfaction, and to receive proper credit and timely acknowledgment, please contact Kate Swann our Executive Director at kate@SchoolofWoodwork.com or 813 223 3490 prior to making a gift of securities.
Gifts of Real Estate
Most real estate has appreciated faster than the rate of inflation and offers great potential in charitable gift planning. We would be happy to explore with you a gift of a home, vacation property, condominium, undeveloped land, or other real estate. For further information please contact please contact Kate Swann our Executive Director at kate@SchoolofWoodwork.com or 813 223 3490 prior to making a gift of securities.
