RESIDENCY STUDIES

This is an opportunity for a two week residency if you are interested in working on building a piece of furniture of your own design under the guidance of a senior-level instructor.

This is not a traditional class; it will be up to you to determine what you accomplish each day and what your overall goals are for your time in the workshop.  You will need to be competent in using all power tools and basic hand tools and have built a few pieces before the class.  This is an opportunity for individual-focused work under the guidance of a professional furniture maker.  Consulting about your project, mini demos, and work sequence conversations are all things you can expect during this period.

To make the most of your time during the residency we encourage you to consider taking the Design: Brief to Blueprint class.  This would be an excellent way to lay the ground work for a successful residency.

You must supply your own materials or may pre-arrange with the School for purchase before your time in the Shop.

Note that this class runs concurrently with the Capstone class for graduating Certificate students. They will be on a similar path, except that their projects must meet certain requirements.

There is a total max class size of 8 to allow for lots of interaction and space to explore.

Please complete this form if you are interested.  We will be accepting applications up until March 1st and will notify by March 5th.  Payment is due at the time of application approval.

Click or drag files to this area to upload. You can upload up to 4 files.
