Jigs are the key to making safe and accurate cuts at the tablesaw and router table.
In this week-long class, we will design and build six different jigs and discuss the theory and use of each.
While most know that having a variety of jigs available is important, many struggle to design and make jigs for themselves. Commercially available options tend to be expensive and over-engineered. Some of the jigs we’ll make in class include:
Students should be capable of standing and working at the tablesaw and router table. This class is intended for beginner and intermediate woodworkers, and students should own a tablesaw.
You do not need to bring any tools. However, this class is intended for students who own a table saw. Knowing the brand and model of your saw is helpful, as well as the spacing of the mitre slots.
Please bring a notebook for taking notes.
Note: Students will need to complete the final fitting of some jigs in their own shop. We will discuss in detail how to fit and fine-tune each jig and even tune the tablesaw itself.
