This action-packed workshop will explore bench, table and stool forms, from classical to contemporary, from frivolous to functional, from light to leviathan.

A design process will be demonstrated that utilizes quick sketches, ¼ size models and full-size mock-ups leading to your finished piece.

Traditional and new joinery techniques, shaping, finishing wood, jig design will be demonstrated along with innovative wood forming processes.  Stacking and nesting furniture, the use of different materials and basic upholstery techniques, will be encouraged.

Storage space, secret compartments and lighting, could be included in your project.
