While the digital age is upon us, we all have physical pictures of places and people that keep memories fresh for us. Framing them in a hand made frame makes them even more memorable. Come and spend a weekend learning how to craft a custom made frame for one of your treasured pictures.
This class is perfect for beginners or for intermediates who want to build hand tool and basic power tool skills.
Everything you will need is here in the workshop along with really knowledgeable, patient instructors who will show you step by step how to accomplish beautiful work.
Picture frames can be one of the simplest yet most difficult projects to master for two reasons. First the 45* cut at each corner need to be perfect in order to make each exactly 90*. Second the opposing sides of the frame must be exactly the same length. No matter how perfect your miter sled or saw these two details can be difficult to get perfect. The secret is to use a shooting board and hand plane and shoot for perfection. You will need some basic tools and we will teach you to do each step is an easy paced class. At the end of the class you will have a beautiful wall hanging frame
