This 5-day chair making class taught by master furniture maker Michael Fortune, will introduce you to a wide variety of new skills while making a folding chair. A folding chair is a feat of engineering and design and while the end result is a simple – making one is a great step forward in skills.
Along with the focus on building a chair, you will also study and practice topics such as anthropomochic design, laminations both bent and tapered, hand and machine tools etc.
The class will feature numerous demos as well as plenty of time for project work.
