Design & Build an Electric Guitar

If you are an electric guitar player or have one in your life this is a great opportunity to make your custom guitar.   You don’t need any prior experience.  In the class you will learn a variety of basic woodworking skills as you take raw lumber and mill ,route and sand it  through the steps necessary to create a finished guitar body. Additionally, you will learn about guitar anatomy, design principles, and proper assembly and setup procedures.

What You Will Learn:
In this five day class, you’ll learn and practice electric guitar making techniques that will include:

 
    Guitar design principles
 
    Select and mill raw lumber into a standard body blank
 
    How to use the bandsaw, sander, drill press and router
 
    How to assemble a guitar with industry standard components

What You Will Do:
From design to construction, you’ll make your own Electric Guitar

Materials & Books Needed:
Materials Needed: Your material fee includes a choice of Cherry, Maple, Walnut, Sapele as well as all the pick ups, electronics, and strings.
 
Additional lumber is available for purchase and may include: Nogal,  Purple Heart, Wenge, Eucalyptus, Ambrosia Maple,
 
You may bring your own wood, excluding any exotic (grown outside of the US), salvage, or high resin lumber.
