Inlay is a woodworking technique to add decorative materials to the surface of your projects. This course provides an opportunity to learn the art of inlay from a master artist.

What You’ll Learn:
Through hands-on demonstrations and practice, you’ll learn how to: select and evaluate materials, use inlay tools, cut and file work, inlay
 
materials into wood, etch, and engrave.

What You’ll Do:
You’ll experiment with stone and mother of pearl to create designs in wood. You will create a letter for a keychain and a hummingbird,
 
both inlayed into ebony. The hummingbird can be framed or used as a box lid.

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $45 that will be added to your order. This fee applies only to your first class.

Depending on your furniture making skill set you may wish to embark on the various woodworking classes from Beginning Woodwork, to
 
Table Making or Box Making. If you are ready to take Box Making you may want to use your hummingbird piece as a lid.
