Learn to Make Boxes

The Beginner Box Making course builds on your woodworking knowledge and serves as a precursor to larger projects, like cabinets or drawers.  This is a good follow on class to the Beginner Woodworking class.

In this weekend class, you’ll learn and practice box making techniques that include:

  • design,
  • carcass construction,
  • bevel cuts,
  • setting hinges and hardware.

The goal is to complete your pieces, aside from finishing. An oil wax finish is available.

Tools Needed: 6” Engineer’s square (Starrett recommended)

Materials & Books Needed: You can select from the following lumber for your class: Poplar, Maple, Cherry, Walnut, Sapele

Optional book: Basic Box Making  by Doug Stowe

Tuition:  $460 per person
Studio & Materials Fee: None
Non-Refundable Registration Fee:  $45 if this is your first time registering
