Through out the centuries whenever two pieces of wood meet, joints were developed to hold them together and in this series of evening class you will learn how to do the most popular ones. In this Class you will learn how to cut a Mortise and Tenon.
In this series of 4 classes, which can be taken as a group or on a individual basis, you will learn how to layout and precisely cut either a single joint such as a dovetail, or a group of joints that use a common set of cuts such as a the rabbet. All of the joints are those most frequently used in furniture making.
The Joint Series
Class 1 – Rabbets, End lap joints, Housed Rabbets (Aug 9th)
Class 2 – Box Joints (Sept 6th)
Class 3 – Mortise & Tennons – blind, slot and thru (Oct 11th)
Class 4 – Dovetails ( November 8th)
The class will use both handtools and power tools so your own preferences for making can be used.
Tools Needed: We recommend that you have the following:

Optional books: The Real Wood Bible, Joint Book – Complete Guide by Nick Gibbs (available at the School)
