Unplugged Workshop

Sep 25, 2017 - Sep 29, 2017 | 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

The Unplugged Workshop provides furniture making students with a hands-on workshop experience to improve joinery and hand skills. This course is ideal for understanding the art and science of using hand tools to hand cut joinery and appreciating the much quieter and compact alternative to power tools.

Open to All

What You’ll Learn:
Through a series of lectures and demonstrations, you will learn and practice with hand tools: tuning, sharpening, saws, chisels, hand planes,
dovetails, mortise and tenons, and joints.

What You’ll Do:
You’ll hone your skills by safely using hand tools and properly practicing joinery techniques. You’ll work on sample pieces to practice the skills
and techniques covered in class. You can use these as models for future projects. You will also have the opportunity to work on small box that is
completely hand planned and put together with hand cut joinery.
