The class provides a step by step introduction to woodworking and furniture making – it is perfect for beginners or for intermediates who want to hone their skills.
In this hands-on class, you will learn the complete process of woodworking (designing, milling, joinery, finishing) and the proper use of machinery and tools. Learn tool set-up and proper techniques for using stationary power equipment (jointer, planer, table saw, etc) and hand tools (squares, chisels, scrapers).
You will design and make a chopping board and a small table.
This includes work with stationary power tools and hand tools. Students should use design techniques to give the table a personality all its own. By latter end of the sessions, students begin assembling the table and start preparing it for finishing. The goal is to complete the table (except finishing) by the end of the course
