*Please note that every other month the workshop will be closed for one of the Beginners Weekend class.
Project & Material Storage:
Members receive a small storage container at orientation. Anything that does not fit in the container must be taken home at the end of each day.
4’ x 5’ spaces are available for rent on a monthly basis. Talk with a shop administrator if you’re interested.
Rough lumber may be stored in the non-humidity controlled area. Must be properly labeled and dated. Storage limited to one 12” deep x 14’ tall x 10” wide vertical wall space.
Tools & Materials:
Members will need to provide their own:
- Lumber — a list of acceptable materials provided
- Hand tools — chisels, planes, squares, etc.
- Drill bits, Fostner bits, files, etc.
- Dominos, Sandpaper (available for purchase)
- Finishing products
- Hardware — handles, table top fasteners, hinges, etc.
Members have access to the area designated for glue up and finishing. We offer a lacquer finishing service on an ad-hoc basis. Acceptable finishes include: edible oil, BLO, wax, poly (all types), and shellac.
We work hard to keep the flow of machines and workshop environment comfortable for all members. If you want to use a table saw for 3 hours at a time, it’s not going to happen here. If you’re looking to build a prototype or one-off project, our workshop is the space for you.
We ask members to respect our workshop policies. We do not welcome manufacturing, high production projects, or building sets. Members cannot give lessons in the studio. For safety and liability, family and friends are not allowed in the shop.
Members are expected to work safely and independently. If you need additional help, please consider Private Classes.
