Mid-Century Modern architecture and furniture can be found in homes and designer showrooms around Florida and the rest of the US. It’s clean lines, practical style and just all around “cool” promise to stay a part of the custom furniture and woodworking world for decades to come.
That’s why we’ve added this special course that will teach you the basics of woodworking featuring a mid-century modern style table as the build project.
You will learn woodworking skills and take that table home with you!
In this hands-on beginning woodwork class, you will learn the complete process of woodworking (designing, milling, joinery, finishing) and along the way make an iconic mid century modern table. Mid-Century Modern (MCM) furniture designs are renowned for creating appealing tables that masterfully ‘float’ the top above minimalist table bases.
You will also learn about tool set-up and proper techniques for using stationary power equipment (jointer, planer, table saw, etc) and hand tools (squares, chisels, scrapers).
Miriam will work with you to incorporate some of your own design elements and, for those whose skills set are a little further along, additional complexity.
Some of the key topics of learning will be:
Tuition: $750 per person + $120 Materials
Non-Refundable Registration Fee: $45 if this is your first time registering.
