Funday – Cutting Board

Make an artisanal chopping board

Level: Open to All (16yrs and older)

Starting with a block of wood, you will mill up and then glue together multiple strips to make up your artisanal cutting board.

While the glue is drying, we’ll break for lunch, and there are some lovely restaurants locally, so you can make a day of it!

After it’s dried, you’ll cut your wood to the final length using a chop saw and plane it down to the final thickness using a planer – don’t worry, we’ll show you how – it’s easy!

You’ll sand it to perfection and apply an organic soy oil/beeswax finish, and you’ll be set to go!

If you are feeling bold and creative, you can do a little burning design on your board using a pyrography pen.

While making your cutting board, you will learn some woodworking skills – how to use a planer, table saw along with sanding, and finishing.

Lots of fun, super easy, wonderful results.

You do not need any experience for this class.  We will keep you safe, you’ll have a great time.
