Required Tools

  • Rectangular .8mm card scraper (we will cover honing a scraper in class). (the School has one at each student bench, but bring your own if its your preferred)

  • Coping saw with medium blades or fret saw with coarse blades (the School has one at each student bench, but bring your own if its your preferred)

Recommend Tools

  • Square (preferably a twelve-inch combination square) (The School has 6″ at each student bench)

  • Bench plane (#4 or #5) (All benches have an HNT Gordon A5 plane( the School has one at each student bench, but bring your own if it’s your preferred)

  • Block plane (most benches at the School have a block plane if you have one bring one if not just make sure you select a bench with one)

  • Shoulder plane if you have one (we have several at the School but recommend you bring your own)

  • Set of bench chisels (1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4) (The School has a set of Narex/Metric chisels at each student bench)
